I seek to merge social sensitivity with material experimentation, crafting spaces that move, challenge, and connect.

Currently Trainee architect at ORG, Brussels
I'm Michiel Wouters, an architectural designer from Leuven, Belgium. I graduated from KU Leuven with a Master of Architecture in Urban Design, with a semester at TU Wien along the way. Right now I'm doing my architecture traineeship at ORG in Brussels.
My work moves between the social and the spatial. I'm drawn to places that are overlooked or avoided: a dark tunnel, a vacant row of brick buildings, a forgotten transit passage. Through careful research and a few precise moves, I try to turn them into places of encounter, care and collectivity.
Nightlife runs through a lot of it. From my thesis Barbican by Night to Chora, the scenographic collective I co-founded in 2020, I explore how architecture can choreograph rhythm, safety and atmosphere after dark. Alongside that, I love testing materials and details by hand and in Rhino, from bamboo joints to 1:50 models.
